Useful Links

Online articles and papers

arxiv.org – The main preprint list. It contains papers published on almost every branch of science. Recently Astrophysics and Condensed Matter sections are classified into further subgroups.

spires – High-Energy Physics Literature Database. It contains the links to refereed articles published in international journals.
To find papers just type – f a author(s). For example type f a witten to find papers by Ed Witten. To find popular papers by a person just sort by approx. citation count.

NASA ADS - Same as the above but I prefer it more for its better search capabilities. It is very good for an extensive literature search. To search for a particular paper just enter the author name and year of publication. Once used for a couple of times it would be easy to locate papers quickly. For example for the paper Maldacena, Phys.Rev.Lett.80:4859-4862,1998 just search for MALDACENA 1998 phrv. If searching from India the ADS has mirror located in IUCAA at http://ads.iucaa.ernet.in/

Lecture notes/videos

High energy physics

String theory

String Theory Wiki – This website has a huge collection of material of wide range of topics pertaining to string theory.

Lecture videos on string theory – This website of Prof. Shiraz Minwalla contains lecture videos on string theory mainly taught from Polchinski.

Mini-course on String Theory – These are lecture notes by Prof. Sunil Mukhi.

String reviews – This site contains a good collection of reviews on string theory.

Theoretical Physics Links – This page contains links to a host of other sites related to string theory. It is a bit dated.

Conferences @ string wiki – This page contains an updated list of conferences related to string theory.

Schools and Conferences on String Theory and Related Topics – Same as above.

SUSY, Standard Model

Lecture videos on SUSY – This website of Prof . Sunil Mukhi contains lecture videos on supersymmetry. The website says that “ The bulk of the course is an introduction to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model followed by a discussion of SUSY breaking”.

Introductory supersymmetry literature for the perplexed – A nice online guide on SUSY. The blog contains good references. But it misses out on good reviews and lecture notes by Adel Bilal and Debasish Ghosal.

Quantum Field Theory – Lectures by Sidney R. Coleman. A classic. The videos hosted in the Harvard site are in flv format and could be downloaded with something like downloadhelper. The lecture notes have been texed and available at http://www.physics.upenn.edu/~chb/phys253a/coleman/.

DIAGRAMMER – By Gerard t’Hooft. It is one of the best reviews for gauge fields. A little bit old, published in 1973, it does not lose its relevance because it is written by the master of renormalization himself. If anyone is learning renormalization this is a must read. Available at    http://preprints.cern.ch/cgi-bin/setlink?base=cernrep&categ=Yellow_Report&id=1973-009 . Better still I you can get hands on the collection of t’Hooft papers published as “Under the spell of the gauge principle”  .

Review of Particle Physics by Particle Data Group – http://pdg.lbl.gov/2009/reviews/contents_sports.html – This site  contains a lot of reviews / short write-ups for particle physics. Good reference but not for introduction. Needs a firm background on QFT.

Blogs

http://www.nonequilibrium.net/ – The home contains daily updates on papers released in arxiv. It has good links to Ads/CFT lecture videos by Maldacena at http://www.nonequilibrium.net/35-lectures-on-adscft-by-maldacena.
